The United Nations General Assembly is not an average place of assembly. Its body consists of representatives of all the nations on the earth. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a representative of the Kingdom of God addressed the esteemed assembly?
That’s what happened, in effect, when Lee Stoneking, a modern-day Lazarus and Christian minister, strode to the podium and trumpeted his real-life experience of Jesus’ raising him from the dead!
With strong conviction, Stoneking stated that he was dead for 45 minutes and was not only raised from the dead “by Jesus,” but that Jesus removed the APOE genome genetic marker for heart disease from every cell of his body!
It is the kind of address you wish would occur more often than it does. Not only did Stoneking affirm the deity of Jesus Christ and His resurrection/healing power, but he gave the body the gospel of salvation, quoting Acts, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Act 2:38 KJV).
Jesus, Stoneking affirmed, is the answer to a world seeking peace.
It is a marvelous moment at the United Nations. One that I hope to see more of as the days push us closer to His return.
