A woman’s true after-death experience of heaven.
The beautiful sunshine belied the tragedy to come that day. It was a bright Saturday morning filled with expectations of a fun weekend of dancing and shopping. A man and his wife were preparing to enjoy the weekend together, desiring to spend some much needed time alone. They’ve already dropped off their five-year-old son in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, for the weekend, and now they were ready to go.
In relating her story to news2morrow, Cynthia Rotenberger recalls the day, September 8th, 1990, quite vividly.
A gnawing sensation kept coming over her that morning; a feeling of great dread and sadness. She couldn’t explain what it was. Everything else was so picture perfect in her life. She had a wonderful family and a precious son they named Lance. They were enjoying countless blessings in every aspect of their lives. But some premonition of catastrophe and doom kept eating away at her.
Making the most of it, they drove off in their 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier when Lance’s father, Terry, blurted out, “Do you want to drive?” Cynthia had always enjoyed driving stick shift along Pennsylvania’s winding, country roads.
“Sure, pull over,” she said.
Filled with excitement, she switched places with Terry and now behind the wheel she again feels that dark, dreaded feeling. She, however, remains cautious as she accelerates up and down the sloping roads, mindful of her driving.
Coming over a hill, Cynthia screams, “Oh, my God!” A 1957 classic Chevy drag race car, which was not registered for commercial roads, is hurtling towards them on their side of the road while driven by a drunk driver! The driver had committed a number of offenses that night. I can only say that he would need some pretty sensational defense lawyers similar to the CNR Lawyers.
Unable to break in time, Cynthia, instinctively, prepares for impact by reaching over to Terry to hold him in his seat. In desperation, she cried aloud to the Lord, “Oh my God!”
“BAM” echoed the violent, head-on impact! The two cars collided in a mesh of twisted steel which hurled both cars into a violent spin in opposite directions.
The devastation happened so quickly, but now regaining consciousness seemed to be moving so slowly for Cynthia. Emanating from the wreckage were clouds of dust, pools of blood and psychological horror. The driver of the other vehicle survived but his passenger did not.
Terry was flung out of the car and was found laying on the side of the road with the drunk driver’s bumper in his arms, dead.
Cynthia was going in and out of consciousness, impaled on the stick shift, teetering on life with 13 fatal injuries, bleeding out of her nose and ears, suffering from broken ribs and bones and a fractured neck.
If she hadn’t been impaled into the stick shift, she would have been jettisoned out of the vehicle, like Terry had been. But her selfless act of reaching out to protect Terry actually saved her life.
“I need help over here,” screamed an anguished medic who rushed to the car, horrified that she did not have much time to live.
Amid the emergency crew’s swirl of activity trying to save Cynthia, she remained blissfully unaware of her circumstances. A supernatural Presence seemed to be in the car comforting her. Despite the fact that saws are cutting through the metal, which throws off hot flakes that burns the flesh on her arm, she feels little pain. They use the jaws of life to free her from the mangled car and move and jostle her, but she still feels little pain. She should have because doctors would later say that she suffered a grand mal seizure, a massive heart attack and severe damage to her brain! The Presence has brought a calm and a peace and removed fear from her.
The roar of the medevac blades were almost deafening as it landed nearby. The medics securely strapped Cynthia’s mangled body to a stretcher as they rush her to the medical helicopter.
“Where is Terry?” moans Cynthia.
The medics stop and show him lying on the road. Yet strangely Cynthia feels no sadness or horror, just this incredible peace. No pain, no fear, even as she drifts off into unconsciousness.
Under the forceful whirling of the medevac propellers, medics struggled to wheel Cynthia, who is secured tightly on a gurney, into the medevac. “We have to intubate her!” shouted a medic. They proceed to place a tube for total life support down her neck. As the medevac ascends above the trees, she senses a feeling of falling, of drifting away, of dying, and her spirit effortlessly leaves her body and passes through the first heaven.
OUT OF THE BODY
At Lehigh Valley Trauma Center, Cynthia recalls vividly that there was a team of four surgeons
working feverishly on her. Cynthia, however, recalls seeing them, not from the vantage point of the operating table, but from above – as her spirit had already left her body upon her death.
Cynthia’s spirit looks down and knows that the surgeons are working on her. She also sees other surgeons frantically looking on from behind glass partitions. And though they are attempting to revive her body, her spirit is filled with complete peace.
Suddenly her spirit is whisked away speedily into the heavens. Leaving the scene on earth, one would hope to be in the presence of light – but instead she travels through an area of pitch darkness — the second heaven!
No light. No air. It’s like a vacuum of utter darkness. Cynthia feels horror at what she sees and hears. Horrible screams. The gnashing of teeth. Glowing eyes piercing through the darkness. Damnable accusations are hurled at her, “God doesn’t love you! You are going to hell. Jesus did not forgive you!”
And yet, there is peace and calm within her, as the Lord thankfully is only letting her pass through the second heaven unto the third heaven, which is God’s throne.
[Scriptures talk about three heavens: 1) the earthly atmosphere; 2) outer space, which is ruled by satan, the “prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2); 3) God’s heaven, where His throne is.]
While still in the Second Heaven, she sees a light in the distance coming on the scene to rescue her. Three birds start swirling around the light, creating an crescendo of noise like an approaching tornado. The birds come closer revealing that they are beautiful, white doves. Upon their approach comes a wind of increasing proportions — a mighty, rushing wind representative of the Holy Spirit. The doves circle about her as the wind totally consumes her.
Their wings gently stroke and caress Cynthia’s face. A penetrating heat shoots down from her head to enliven her whole spirit, thus removing all confusion from her.
“Help Jesus!” she blurts. Suddenly the doves turn into a glorious, six-winged Seraphim angel. It was huge, white, fiery, and iridescent. The Seraphim swoops down, envelopes her in its wings and scoops Cynthia out of the Second Heaven.
THE THIRD HEAVEN
Within an instant, she is presented into a world of unparalleled glory. It is the Third Heaven!
She falls to her face, as if dead. A tender hand reaches down and ever so gently picks her up, beckoning her to arise.
She tries to take in the beauty of this glorious light. It seems like everything that she sees pulsates with trillions of the most beautiful, iridescent light and rainbow elements refracting in such a way that they resplendently permeate every infinitesimal heavenly particle.
She senses a Presence standing in front of her, a Presence that radiates awe, splendor and majesty. Her breath is taken away by His glory.
There He is. The One who made a way possible for all sinners to have eternal life with God (1 John 5:13). The One through whom no one comes to Heaven unless it’s through Him (John 14:6).
Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
There He was, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, radiantly clothed in fiery, rainbow glory.
And in the Lord’s arms, Terry, beaming with joy, is lovingly held. Terry is healed and alive, and his eyes radiated with unspeakable joy.
No wonder Cynthia felt such comfort when she saw his mangled body on the side of the road. And there was Terry now, aglow with life, joy and strength.
The voice she heard was like the sound of mighty, rushing waters. The Lord then began communicating with Cynthia about her life.
Incredibly, she was given answers for all the times in her life when she was hurt or confused. And there were reasons for everything that happened to her, spelled out right before her by the One who saw it all. Cynthia was shown her birth and life, its struggles and triumphs, from a heavenly vantage point which brought deep meaning and satisfaction to it all.
Jesus brought much needed relief which broke off all the confusion of her life. She felt totally transformed and healed emotionally.
Then the Lord, through a portal, gave her a view of what was going on in the earth. Many Christians were weeping and praying for Cynthia, as she lay in a coma in total life support. Their faith was weakened by the circumstances. Cynthia began weeping, as did the Lord.
Then Cynthia sees her five-year-old Lance, inconsolable, as he looks at her lifeless body in the hospital. The Lord told her that Lance’s destiny would be thwarted and he wouldn’t make it in life unless Cynthia returned to parent him. Again, Cynthia weeps and the Lord weeps as well.
The Lord then goes on to share about Cynthia’s future and the days leading up to the return of Jesus Christ. She is shown multitudes of Christians, professing that they know God, but do not. And other multitudes that simply fall away from the faith at the most late hour.
Cynthia begins to shake from weeping and the Lord weeps violently with her.
The Lord turned to her and said, “You can go back and do My perfect will. I will go before you and Lance and reveal it all in my time. You have been faithful over little and I will make you faithful over much.”
Terry and Cynthia looked at each other. Cynthia bade farewell with “See you later!”
Then, before Cynthia returned back to her body on earth to fulfill that which the Lord desired for her life, she heard the Lord’s booming, final words, “Tell them I am coming quickly!”
Suddenly, on earth, Cynthia began feeling nurses shoving tubes down her mouth. Filled with her new purpose and expectations in life, Cynthia pushed away the nurses, declaring, “”If you continue to shove them down my throat, I will shove them down your throat!”
The nurses, rather than feeling offended, broke out in laughter and joy over her coming out of the coma. From then on, Cynthia felt an urging to do the Lord’s will until He returns.
[News2morrow enjoyed sharing this true story with you today, knowing that it may convince someone out there about the reality of heaven, hell, the Son of God and eternal life. The whole reason for news2morrow’s existence is to share details in the news that show that Jesus is coming back just as He said, and to prepare people for His return.
Are you ready for His return?
If you don’t know Jesus, it’s not difficult to know Him. He is willing to forgive your sins, to set you on a right path and to grant you eternal life, if you repent and turn to Him. He’s not pushing a religion before you, as much as He’s pushing a real relationship with Him, through prayer, reading the Bible, and depending on Him for needs in your life. And you will walk in the supernatural life, relating with God for your guidance.
You’ll find that Jesus is real and that He loves you, like no one else that is worshipped or praised. He is the One we need because He is the One who died for us to cleanse us from our sins.]
